Microgaming to Assist Children through Education Fund

The Isle of Man community welcomed the announcement made by Microgaming, a large employer on the island, regarding their educational bursary that will assist Isle of Man based children to continue their education, where they previously might have missed such an opportunity.

An annual contribution of up to £6,000 per student paid for secondary education. The funded money would be available to cover living and housing cost for the student. Students who wish to be considerate for the program will undergo selection by merit level.

IOM Department of Education and Children will manage the funds, and this opportunity is open to students eligible for a DEC maintenance grant and been approved for undergraduate degree studies.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, explains: “The youth of the Island are our future” he also mentioned that the investment will develop the children to their full potential, and Microgaming’s passion to support local charities, events and sports clubs, health care and now education. Microgaming is also supporting the first ever Soap Box Race, that will be held in Douglas in September this year. In July the sponsored the Microgaming Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon in Isle of Man, and the marathon had over 90 entries while the half marathon had 220.

Microgaming has been around since 1994 and developed the first true online casino, breaking records and new grounds in online gaming ever since. Microgaming has developed no less than 700 Casino games, which includes over 1,200 variants.
